Kitchen Chronicles: Banana Breakfast Smoothie

I have spent 29 years on this earth and there is one thing that I have never done: cook fresh and tasty meals. But now, things are beginning to change (thanks primarily to my girlfriend). Every recipe that I will write about comes from her. Now, she can eat anything... as long as it does not contain corn, soy, gluten, or dairy. I have gotten on board with this diet and have not felt better. I have dropped a few pounds, I have been sleeping like a baby, and I walk around with a little more pep in my step (and not in a carbohydrate induced haze). Recipe #2: Banana Smoothie. This one takes about 6 minutes to make. If you have decent eye sight and can measure a thing or two this one should be EASY and it tastes great!
Banana Smoothie
Difficulty: 0.5 out of 5
Catefory: Breakfast/snack

Ingredients (serves two people)
1.0 - 2.0 cups of Almond Milk (2 cups is a lot so share it with your loved ones!)
1 Banana
1 cup of Gluten Free Rolled Oats
A few squirts of local honey
1 teaspoon of Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Bean Extract (optional)

Instructions
  1. Pour yourself two cups of almond milk
  2. Add in 1 cup of Gluten Free Rolled Oats
  3. Add in 1 banana
  4. If you choose to add vanilla, do it now!
  5. Blend the contents for 12-15 seconds
  6. Pour into glasses and add some honey and cinnamon to the top and voila!

On most mornings, this is the first thing I consume in the morning. I am always hungry but don't always feel like cooking a big breakfast first thing. I drink a smoothie, have some tea, do a little reading and then get ready for a big breakfast meal. That recipe coming soon!
